Today we walked 17.2 miles (27.7 km) in 10.25 hours with several breaks. It was a long, long day.
Today’s distance ties our longest from last year, and we only did it once last year because we were so tired the next day. But we did it again today because we want to make it to Burgos tomorrow, so hopefully we won’t regret it. So far we’re feeling tired but mostly ok so we have high hopes.
Anyway, we ended up in a good albergue in the little village of Agés (“ah-HES”) even though we thought at one point that all three albergues here might be full because we arrived so late — at 7pm. We’ve showered, washed clothes, and are waiting for what looks like it’ll be a good dinner at a tiny little restaurant nearby — Kathey even got to order from a vegetarian menu.
We’ll sleep well tonight!
Maybe you could rent one of those beautiful horses to take you a little way. ;-)

Looks like a great day – 17 miles! It’s good to see Russell in more pictures:-). Buen Camino!
Such pretty skies this time!!!
haha! I was thinking the same thing about the horses!
Wow! So many photos reminded me of the movie. Glad you also got some good tucka to refuel after all that hiking!
Great! It was our longest day also but well worth the walk. Nice picture of what I called the giant U. It looked intimidating from a distance but wasn’t so bad.
